The Other Weeks

Week 7 I noticed second graders became better in language but the teacher is still using Turkish unnecessarily. Week 8 I made a teaching with my peer and I think it went well. We reached our goals and great teaching environment Week 11 I made my last teaching and I think it was really bad. I could not manage the class well and give clear instrcutions. Week 12 It was the last week of my teaching and I had different feelings in that day.

Sixth Week

This week, we did not have much chance for observing first and second classess because it was their portfolio week. Actually, we had the chance to give points to the students which the teachers made portfolio to. Our criterias were different and needless to say, they were invalid but it was fun.

Fifth Week

This week I made my first official teaching and my university teacher came and made observation. Actually, I am accustomed to making teachings and being observed by our teachers. However, I was really nervous before that theaching because there was a camera involved and there were two teachers making their observations. My aim for the teaching was making the students talk in the class and I believe I achieved that. My first and second activities were nice and I felt in control yet the last activity made me nervous again. The students were really nice throughout the teaching but in the last activity they were not so patient and this situation led some problems. I did not know what to do and eventually when the teaching was over one of the students wanted to talk and I allowed him to talk. He told something in Turkish and I could not remember the English of the word it was really a breakdown for me. My teaching would be really good without this error.

Fourth Week

Bu haftada da sıra dışı bir olay yaşanmadı. 2. sınıf öğretmeninin Türkçe kullanımı azaldı fakat bence hala fazla düzeyde Türkçe kullanımı vardı. Umarım durum daha da iyiye gider.

Third Week

2. sınıftaki L1 sorunu devam ediyor, 1. sınıfların Türkçe konuşması yasakken 2. sınıfların bu kadar çok Türkçe kullanması tuhafıma gitti. Öte yamdan, 5. sınıf hocasının daha communicative dersler işlemeye başlaması güzel bir gelişme.

Second Week

Bu hafta şaşırtıcı denebilecek olay 2. sınıf hocasının derste sürekli Türkçe kullanmasıydı. Bunun dışında diğer sınıflarda dersler alışılageldik biçimde devam etti.

First Week

İlk haftada 3 farklı sınıf gözlemledim ve genelde dersler normal ilerledi. Öğretmenler alışık olduğu stilde ders işlemeye devam ettiler. Sadece ilk derste 'teacher talk' daha azdı ki bu bence iyi bir gelişme.
